A few days ago, Snail saw that UCloud merchants released a new national cloud computing activity. I have seen some news reports about this merchant in the early days, but its products are not mentioned much in personal circles. Of course, the price is not as advantageous as that of some merchants we usually see, and it is estimated that few people will experience it.

I guess they are thinking about entering the personal market and have released cloud computing activities several times in a row. For the first cloud computing event, you should have used the coupons to purchase a 1C1G1M cloud server in Hong Kong at your own expense for 300 yuan (for computer room purposes in mainland China). It’s not big, so I chose Hong Kong). This time I saw that the discount coupon can be obtained for 260 yuan. In order to find out whether this is actually the case, Snail re-registered an account and tried to get the coupons to see if there are other tricks, because some merchants mark the lowest price, which is not actually the case when you really want to buy a machine.

First, regarding the issue of newly registered accounts

If we already have a UCLOUD account and have not participated in the National Cloud Computing event before, we can also participate this time. If you have participated before, you cannot participate again. There are some differences for newly registered accounts.

After registering an account normally, we require real-name authentication. Without real-name authentication, you cannot submit an order to purchase products. At present, most host companies in mainland China require real-name authentication. If we mind, then just skip this merchant. If we are used to real-name authentication in mainland China, then accept it. (This is the only way)

Second, about receiving coupons

In our current UCLOUD national coupon campaign (I can only say currently, because it may change later), we have several plans for cloud host products, and you can only receive one coupon combination. For example, I received the annual 260 package combination.

The cloud host is given two sets of UCloud vouchers. One set is currently available, and one set can be renewed in advance next year. If the price remains unchanged, you can actually use the two-year discount. There are also data disk vouchers, see how to use them later. Here I easily received the cloud database and domain name coupons, because the domain name was 20 yuan after discount, although I did not have a domain name to register.

After asking customer service, if you choose E 1C2G1M plus 20GB data disk in the Beijing area, it will cost 260 yuan per year. If you choose 1C1G1M in Hong Kong without a data disk (with a 20GB system disk), it will cost 290 yuan per year. I still need to verify it.

Third, check the available voucher discounts

Here I chose the Hong Kong E computer room area, 1C1G1M. By default, a 20GB data disk will be added, but I deleted it directly. The picture above is the result price of automatic settlement. Including an IP address and 1M bandwidth (their home is separate) is 290 yuan per year after discount. Theoretically, if the renewal coupon is used in this way in the second year, it will be the same 290 yuan as the current payment. (2-core and 4-core coupons are only valid for 1 year)

Then I tested the Beijing E computer room. 1C2G1M plus a 20GB data disk costs 260 yuan a year. By analogy, other computer rooms have different discounts based on their initial prices.

The routine for getting coupons is like this. There are three console coupons on the event page, and each person can only get one. They can be deducted after spending 800, 1800, and 3600 respectively. This is actually determined based on the amount of consoles we actually consume. If you receive a large amount, the amount will be reduced only after the amount is reached.

Fourth, summary record

1. This UCLOUD event is somewhat similar to the first event. You need to pay a certain amount to use the coupon after receiving it, and it is not free. Snail tested in the Hong Kong computer room and Beijing E computer room, 1 core 1G1M and 1 core 2G1M are 290 yuan and 260 yuan per year respectively (the amount you need to pay after deduction).

2. Snail does not make any recommendations or suggestions for products, and different users have different functions. I can only say that I opened a 1M machine in the Hong Kong computer room during the first cloud computing event. There is no problem in simply putting a personal website on it. If you need speed, downloading and other purposes, the configuration is there after all.

3. Regarding merchant activities, Snail is limited to what is currently seen and recorded. There is no guarantee whether the merchant will make subsequent changes. It’s really difficult to write things now.
