BT Pagoda Linux Server Management Assistant sets up free VPS panel installation and initial setup application

Snail first saw information about the Pagoda Server Management Assistant software when he saw an advertisement on Xiaoye’s blog last week. Judging from the introduction of this software, it should have been gradually updated and upgraded in the past two years. It currently has Linux and Windows Environment version, among which the Linux system version required by most of our users is the inner version, but the functions should be relatively complete for ordinary website building needs.

From the perspective of user demand, although there are many large and small Linux server management panels in mainland China, they either have to start paying, or the version is too old and has not been updated for a long time. Including the AppNode panel that Snail introduced before is also charged version, but the BT Pagoda Panel is free. Although it is currently in the beta version, I am still ready to experience the functions and installation process of this new panel.

BT Pagoda Linux Server Management Assistant currently only supports CentOS6.X/7.X version system, so we need to consider the corresponding system version when installing. According to the introduction, multiple PHP versions can coexist and switch. This is different for the same server. It is still a good feature for users with different PHP versions of the site.

First, BT Pagoda Linux Server Assistant installation script

1. Select the software download node and mount the hard disk

There are 2 download nodes here, we can choose one; there is also a process that can help us quickly mount the data disk. If we have a data disk that needs to be mounted, we can enter y and press Enter to help us mount it. Personal suggestion If we have a data disk, we should mount it ourselves. When mounting here, just enter n and press Enter.

2. Set PHP and MYSQL versions

We can choose PHP5.2-PHP7 versions according to project needs, or we can install them all, because some netizen projects require switching between different PHP versions on different sites; then select the MYSQL database version and set the database password.

3. Check version information and installation

We check the software version of the configuration server environment. If there is no problem, enter y and press Enter to install. The system will estimate the installation time, which is not accurate.

4. Installation success interface

Wait and wait. When you see the above interface, it means the installation is complete. Then record the information part of the logo, the URL of the login panel, and the database information.

After we complete the installation, we cannot access the panel immediately and need to initialize the panel:

After entering the BT Server Management Assistant, I saw that the backend is relatively simple and refreshing, which should be in line with the operating habits of Chinese webmasters. To be honest, AppNode was a bit awkward before. The current version is 2.3.3.1, which has server status query, website management, FTP management, suffering management, firewall management, file management, and is sufficient for basic website building functions.

1. Add a site

We need to add a site, set the binding domain name, whether we need to create FTP, database, and select the PHP version (because I installed them all during installation).

2. Create FTP account management

Because Snail (laozuo.org) created both FTP and MYSQL when creating the site, you can see that FTP has an account. If we need to create it separately, see the figure above to create a separate user and point to the specified directory.

3. Create MYSQL database

Similarly, we can set the database user separately, or add the site database together when adding the site.

4. File Manager

The role of the file manager is quite large. You can package and decompress files directly through the panel to improve efficiency.

5. Firewall port management

The above are the basic functions of this panel, and the website building function is still sufficient.
