This article was originally going to be published a few days ago, but it was delayed by something. This article originated from a netizen requesting Snail to help solve the problem. He used the WDCP panel to manage the Linode VPS host. For the security of the entire system, he set restrictions on SSH login accounts in the WDCP panel. Of course, he also banned ROOT permissions to log in to SSH. The bigger problem is that the WDCP panel does not know why the panel cannot be opened (later it was discovered that the hard disk was full).

From a normal logical analysis, we only need to log in to SSH, and then delete some unnecessary files. After restarting the WDCP panel, we can easily log in to the panel. After logging in to the panel, we can contact Linode VPS in the background of the panel. Restricted permissions for SSH and ROOT.

The first step is to log in to the Linode panel account and set Lish Settings

The above picture is found in My Profile – Lish Settings. We need to create an SSH login key and then fill in the LISH KEYS.

Step 2, create SSH key login

The snail here uses the method in the article "Xshell Setting Key Login to Ensure Linux VPS and Servers are More Secure" to create an SSH login key, and then paste it into the List Setting – Lish Keys text above.

Third, find Lish via SSH information

We need to find the login super information of Linode’s current computer room in Dashboard – Remote Access.

We need to find the information at 1 and 2 above, and then use 2 for the IP address and 1 for the username when logging in to XSHELL, and then select the key to log in.

In this way, we can successfully log in to the Linode VPS super user and log in to SSH. Then if we need to delete files to reduce the hard disk, we can use the command to delete them. If we really forget the ROOT port, then we can modify the port through sudo nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config, and then sudo /etc/init.d/ssh restart to take effect.
