Apply for UCloud merchant TrustAsia DV free SSL certificate and deployment verification method

A few days ago, the Snail Blog serialized a tutorial on UCLOUD server website building, because among some current hosting providers, their Hong Kong cloud servers are relatively cost-effective. Although there is a return speed limit of 2M, it is not suitable for website building or Daily use projects are quite cost-effective, at least much more affordable than our other current Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud servers for new users.

In the past few days, Snail has been trying to test the object storage plug-in in UCLOUD, and an SSL certificate is required when binding a domain name. Because the certificate used when binding object storage is not particularly practical, LET’s free certificate needs to be updated every three months. Moreover, there is no Let’s Encrypt free certificate and how to obtain it in UCLOUD. I estimate that there should be some in the future, and some of them are provided in other object stores.

Here we choose to purchase a certificate. Of course, if we want to use our own externally purchased certificate or applied certificate, we can also import it into the upload certificate.

We choose TrustAsia DV certificate, which is free, as shown above. Similar to what we have in Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud. Just confirm the payment directly, we don't need to pay.

Fill in our personal information, including the domain name where you want to set up SSL.

And we set up the verification method, where Snail is used to apply for DNS verification. After the application is completed, we need to follow the prompts to set the DNS of the domain name.

Finally, we will automatically and successfully apply for a free SSL certificate after the verification is completed. Then we deploy it to the website based on the certificate we applied for. In this way, we have completed the application for a free certificate on UCLOUD.
