Microsoft's new Windows Server 2022 is officially released, with a free image download address

Microsoft will begin distributing the official version of Windows Server 2022 to customers around the world starting today.

Previously, Windows Server 2022 has been open for preview testing for a long time.

Windows Server 2022 will exist in the form of LTSC long-term support version, with a span of 10 years (5 years mainstream + 5 years extension), which means that the next generation replacement may have to wait longer. Before Windows Server 2022, Microsoft's server system was Server 2019.

To put it simply, the main upgrades of Windows Server 2022 are more complete and powerful security, the use of Azure Arc to link on-site SKU servers, and support for 48TB memory, up to 64-way total 2048-core CPU, IPv6, dual stack, HostProcess container, etc.

In terms of pricing, there are still three major versions: necessary (25 users + 50 devices), standard and data center, priced at US$501, US$1069 and US$6155 respectively.

From an interface perspective, Windows Server 2022 is closer to Windows 10 than Windows 11.
