The AppNode test version site has not been officially used. After all, the test version is updated frequently and is not suitable for website building. On August 14, AppNode released the official version, which also marked the end of the free public beta version and entered the official paid era. Let me bring you the experience of installing and using AppNode, the cluster host management panel under Linux.

The installation method is very simple and relatively fast. Currently, it only supports the CentOS series version system. Other Linux system versions will be launched later. I guess this is related to the system used by most host companies in mainland China! Mount your own data disk (if any) before installation. Of course, if you do not mount it, there is no problem in mounting it later.

1. Install AppNode

1. Install using SSH connection tool
Connect to your Linux server using SSH connection tools such as PuTTY, XShell, SecureCRT, etc.

2. Execute the following command to start the installation

bash -c "$(curl http://dl.appnode.com/install.sh)"

The Hong Kong VPS used by this site has a small water pipe bandwidth. The installation process was completed in about 10 minutes, which is relatively fast!

3. Enter some panel information, such as panel port, panel user, panel password, etc. You can also default it and modify it later

4. Enter Y to complete the installation

Seeing such a prompt interface means that the installation has been completed. The process of installing AppNode is very fast because there are no environmental components installed. Use the above prompts to log in to the management background for management, configure the web environment, etc.

2. Personal operating experience

Follow the prompts just installed, use ip:port to enter the management interface

Enter your username and password to log in to the backend management interface! The user name and password were set by myself when I just installed them. The ones used by this site are the default ones!

After logging in, you will see the simple mode above. In the panel settings in the upper right corner, there are related operations such as panel upgrade and panel restart. At this time, no more operations can be performed. You need to install the controlled terminal. The next step is to install the controlled terminal. As shown by the arrow in the picture above, install the local controlled terminal. Just select local! Note that you need to use Chrome, Firefox and other browsers, or IE 10 or above series, other digital browsers cannot be used properly!

Click to proceed to the next step and enter the connection detection link. It will prompt: The controlled terminal has been successfully installed and the connection is normal. It is considered complete!

After the installation of the controlled terminal is completed, you can click on the management later to perform other related operations!

Enter the management interface, where various services are available

Go to the software manager to download various environment programs. Anyway, there are quite a lot of things in there, including common WEB environment configuration software and common network acceleration services, etc. Define it yourself! The regulations on the left are also very clear, so I won’t take a screenshot here to give an example.

3. Summary of personal operations

Overall, the APPnode cluster management panel is still very powerful. It may be a little slow for novices who are using it for the first time, but it is all in Chinese. You can understand it simply by looking at it, and it is not very advanced. The cluster management function is more powerful than the AMH5. Especially the application list displayed in the left column allows you to quickly access the content you want to view. In any case, the current appnode panel is pretty good.
