Use speedtest to measure speed in linux environment

How to use speedtest to measure speed in Linux environment. In fact, the superbench one-click package also comes with this network bandwidth speed test. Today I will talk about the speedtest speed test alone.

The Speedtest test network upload/download speed is quite good, and it is very convenient under Windows. Under Linux, you can also easily use the command line speedtest to test. speedtest is a lightweight Linux command line tool written in Python and can run under Python 2.4 to 3.4. It is based on Speedtest.net's infrastructure to measure the network's up/down speed. Installing speedtest is easy, just download its Python script file:

wget https://raw.github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli/master/speedtest.py chmod a+rx speedtest.py mv speedtest.py /usr/local/bin/speedtest chown root:root /usr/local/bin/speedtest

After the installation is completed, type the command speedtest on the machine, and the download and upload speed will appear.

As shown in the picture above, I tested the speed with the American KT Los Angeles cloud host, and it turned out to be 200M speed. If you want to share test results, you can use the parameter –share and it will upload your test results to the Speedtest.net server and share them graphically with others. If you are interested in all currently available Speedtest.net servers, you can use the parameter –list. It will print out all the Speedtest.net servers (sorted by geographical distance from you).

In the above list, each line is preceded by an ID corresponding to the server. If you want to use a specified node to test your network speed, you only need to specify its ID after the speedtest command. For example, if you want to use the 5031 server in the picture above, you only need to specify the corresponding server ID 5031.
