Provides free application and access to the deployment of Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates.

Youpaiyun has implemented full-site HTTPS in 2015, and is also the first cloud service provider to support HTTPS and HTTP/2.0 in mainland China. Let’s Encrypt’s free SSL certificate service has just been launched recently. According to the introduction, Symantec, GeoTrust and other certificates will be launched in the future. For average users, free Let’s Encrypt certificates are sufficient. Moreover, Let’s Encrypt is an open source certificate and has a good reputation among free certificates, so many developers and blog webmasters will choose to deploy this type of certificate. Here Snail briefly shares the process of applying for a certificate and deploying HTTPS on Youpai Cloud.

First, have a Youpai Cloud account

If you don’t have an account, we need to register one. Register according to your identity, whether it is a business or an individual.

In view of the security of personal information and the management of stored files, personal information needs to be true and needs to be reviewed before you can continue to log in and use it. Snail has already registered an account here and logs in directly to use it. There is no need to register again here.

Second, free SSL certificate application process

1. Create service/bind domain name

The free SSL certificate service we mentioned here is a service based on Youpai cloud acceleration and storage products, and is not used in external products. Here we need a service before it can be bound and used, so if there is no service that needs to be created, skip it if there is.

We can also bind our own domain name to the service we create (you must bind a domain name when applying for SSL), so that resource links are localized. Snail also recommends that users use their own domain names. After adding the bound domain name, it needs to be reviewed and we must first do the cname resolution ourselves. It should be noted here that the binding should automatically detect whether the domain name is BA, and then the verification will be completed automatically within one minute.

2. Apply for SSL certificate

Log in in order, Toolbox -> SSL Certificate Service -> Certificate Subscription, and then prepare to apply for a certificate.

We can see that currently there is only Let\\’s Encrypt free certificate service, and there will be other certificates in the future.

We all know that the Let\\’s Encrypt certificate is valid for 90 days, and it will be automatically renewed after you apply for it here.

Here you need to bind the domain name to verify ownership. Because the domain name CNMAE was already bound to the service when we added it at the beginning, the verification is very fast.

After we submit the application, it will be reviewed within about 1 day. After the certificate application is successful, it will be automatically deployed to the Youpai Cloud CDN platform. We can go to the certificate management interface to manage it.

Third, Youpaiyun SSL certificate management

By default, it is automatically deployed after we apply successfully and take the cloud certificate, but it is not turned on by default. We need to turn it on in the certificate management.

We go to Certificate Management-HTTPS configuration to enable and enforce it to take effect.

Fourth, summary of applying for a free SSL certificate from Youpaiyun

1. If our services in Youpai Cloud need to activate an SSL certificate, custom deployment is a little troublesome. Directly using the free SSL certificate is faster and automatically deployed.

2. Currently, only Let\\’s Encrypt free certificates are provided, which is also acceptable for ordinary users because they can be automatically renewed. In the future, other paid certificates will be provided for high-end users.
