A few days ago, some netizens happened to have a project that required the use of a dynamic IP server. They were not particularly clear about what it was used for, so they chose the PumpCloud service provider because they provide Hong Kong VPS – Dynamic. Package, I asked for it later and did a simple test. Even though the bandwidth provided by this merchant starts at 100Mbps (configured machine), the cost is still relatively high after all. If it is only used for fixed IP website building purposes, in fact, we still have Other merchants can choose, after all, the cost is relatively high.

Because Snail did not use PumpCloud's machine as a production environment, it was just a simple test, and the merchant's content recording was only a problem encountered during the actual operation. For example, when this classmate received the communication from PumpCloud, the information he saw did not actually give a fixed IPV4 address, because at first I thought I would give him an IP address anyway, and I will talk about the dynamic and non-dynamic aspects later.

First, this is communication

Under normal circumstances, after receiving the activation email, we need to directly get the IPV4 address and ROOT information to log in to SSH. But we are not given this information here. However, when it comes to panel management, Snail tries to log in to its panel. Of course, no password is given. It is easy to handle if you know the user name. You can directly retrieve the password through the password retrieval function. Login panel.

Second, log in to the panel to install the system and set the password

Here we see the familiar SolusVM panel. The default machine is enabled, but the system has not been installed yet. Here I reinstall the system and set the ROOT password.

There is only the Linux system here. In fact, I am also wondering, how can we implement the function similar to the dial-up dynamic IP provided by merchants in mainland China? I won't care about it for now. We will look at how to implement dynamic IP later. Here we first find the fixed IPV4 address, and then evaluate and test the machine.

Third, you need to log in to VNC to obtain the fixed address

Although we see the IP address in the panel, this address is a local IP, not an IPV4 address that we can remotely access. Therefore, even if we know the server ROOT account password, we still cannot log in to XSHELL directly.

Look here and search, and when you see the official documentation, you need to log in to the VNC Console. We can see this in the panel.

It cannot be obtained directly here, and support software needs to be installed.

apt update -yapt install –upgradeallapt install crul

Then we are getting the IP.

curl ifconfig.co

In this way we can see an IP address, and then Snail can log in via SSH with this address and the previously set system ROOT password. This led to the subsequent simple evaluation of PumpCloud.

To summarize, here we only see that we can get an IP address for the current server. We still need to think about how to bind and use the dynamic IP address. I will let this classmate's machine be lent to me for testing later when I have time.
