First of all, we divide them into categories. Generally, we use intranet services and public network services to distinguish them. IPLC, IEPL, and MPLS VPN are all intranet services, while CN2 dedicated lines are public network services.
Secondly, the "dedicated lines" used by airports that you see so far are basically the following types: Public network Tunnel forwarding accounts for about 80% Alibaba classic intranet/cloud enterprise network accounts for about 15% Other IPLCs (such as our 26ms Shanghai-Daily line and 17ms Shanghai-Taiwan line) account for about 4% The remaining 1% use black wires. I only know one person using that type of wire and it is not very stable.
Let’s talk about the issue of CN2 dedicated line. The CN2 dedicated line service is China Telecom CN2 Global Internet Access. It was proposed by some Chinese merchants who sell GIA CN2 in North America. About 16 years ago -> CeRaNetworks (CN2 dedicated line), 2017 Anchang -> CDIA (China Direct Internet Access), so many people think that this is a real dedicated line, but GFW. In fact, it is just a gimmick created by the merchants for publicity. Even if you use CN2 GIA, it will not work properly when the backbone network in mainland China explodes. Of course, since GFW is deployed at the exit of the backbone network, the business on the public network must naturally pass through the wall. There is no CN2 dedicated line service that cannot pass through the wall.
No one will use IEPL and MPLS VPN, so I won’t mention them here.
The concept of IPLC is for interconnecting communication between two points, that is, point-to-point communication. Shenzhen-Hong Kong IPLC means point-to-point transmission from Shenzhen to Hong Kong without going through the public network. It is a complete intranet. At present, Alibaba Cloud's classic intranet/cloud enterprise network is this kind. After uninstalling Alibaba Cloud Shield, it can be considered a real dedicated line. Because this kind of dedicated line does not go through the public network, it cannot pass through the wall at all. GFW will not know what you are transmitting.
There is also a special situation. There is a public network tunnel that cannot pass through the wall. Because GFW is deployed at the operator's exit, there is no GFW from mainland China to mainland China. Therefore, some airports use the following structure to construct wall-less dedicated lines:
Xuzhou VPS -> Shanghai Alibaba Cloud -> Alibaba Classic Intranet -> Hong Kong Alibaba Cloud -> HKT
This method avoids the GFW deployed at the operator's outlet. Moreover, because currently mainland Chinese operators have very small QoS for IDC bandwidth, HKT does not limit the speed in Hong Kong, so it also greatly improves the connection speed. . This approach is indeed unbreakable, and because the reviews of many Tier 2 IDCs are not as heavy as those of Alibaba Cloud, it is also chosen by many people.
To summarize, current public network-based services such as GIA CN2, BBTEC, and 9929 all have GFW, which not only risks being blocked but also has QoS issues. The most cost-effective IPLC at present is the one developed by Alibaba Cloud Classic Network/Cloud Enterprise Network.
