Sometimes for special project needs, we need to change the server IP address, or need to change the IP address of the server. Different merchants have different operation methods. In Tencent Cloud Server, if we need to replace the original fixed IP of the cloud server CVM with another IP, and we need to set up several more public IP addresses on the server, what method should we use? First, preparation before presentation

Because Snail’s production environment does not require the use of multiple IPs or changing IP addresses, the operation of this article was carried out on the Tencent Cloud server test machine. Second, apply for a flexible public IP

Here we can see the application for elastic public IP in the Tencent Cloud server background. Of course, you need to apply for the corresponding region, so that you can switch to the cloud server in the corresponding region. Expanding the region should not be supported.

Third, bind the cloud server

After the application is completed, we need to bind the cloud server and click the bind button directly.

Just select the cloud server that needs to be bound to the region.

There is a problem that needs to be noted here. If the public IP of our original cloud server is not released, it will be directly replaced by the newly created elastic public IP. The original fixed IP will disappear and of course cannot be retrieved.

Third, how to unbind the elastic IP

Similarly, when we bind an elastic IP, we can also unbind it.

After unbinding, we can continue to throw it into the elastic IP, or we can delete it directly without putting it in the elastic IP.

Fourth, unbind the fixed IP address

Sometimes, if the existing public IP of our Tencent Cloud server still needs to be used or is no longer needed, it can be released directly. Return the public IP, or directly bind the elastic IP.

Here you can also choose to throw it to the elastic IP or convert it directly. If you convert it directly, it will be deleted and replaced. If we do not directly bind the elastic public IP to a fixed public IP, but directly bind the elastic public IP, after we unbind it, a public IP will be reassigned.

In summary, the function of Tencent Cloud Elastic Public IP is suitable for projects that require multiple temporary dynamic elastic IPs. We can temporarily add elastic IPs to the server and unbind them at any time after the project is completed.
