In the last week, the most common information our webmasters have seen is that the basic solution has been upgraded from the original 1G memory to 2G. In addition to the CPU core being reduced from 8 cores to 2 cores, other hard drives, traffic, etc. have also been improved. If our existing users need to upgrade, they can click to upgrade directly on the right panel of the individual product plan, but "Linodes with configuration profiles referencing a 32 bit kernel are currently not eligible for this upgrade. For more information please see" our switching kernels guide, or redeploy this Linode using a 64 bit distro.\\" prompt.

Because if we use a 32-bit system at the beginning, we need to switch the system to 64-bit before upgrading. But what we need to pay attention to is that if your system installation package or panel does not support 32-bit, you cannot upgrade. If you upgrade, your website may not be opened. Therefore, you need to determine in advance whether you can upgrade. If you cannot upgrade, you need to back up the data locally first, and then reinstall the system after the system upgrade. If you are sure that the system supports 64-bit, you can refer to the following method to upgrade the current memory to 2G, and it will not affect your website.

In the above interface, we see the current system, and then click the EDIT button at the back.

Only after upgrading the system, we can click the \\"Upgrade Available\\" picture button to upgrade. (Linode VPS is twice upgraded again for free, with existing VPS upgrade methods attached)

The only thing that needs attention is that we need to make sure that your current environment can use 64-bit. If you are using 64-bit, there is no problem in upgrading directly.

Click the ENTER THE UPGRADE QUEUE NOW button to enter the queue and give us the upgrade. After upgrading, check whether the system is normal. If not, you can consider reinstalling the system, etc.

After the upgrade, the memory has changed.
