If you only need to build a website, Snail has always suggested that in addition to the special need to use Windows systems, you can definitely find PHP+MySQL program alternatives according to public demand. In this way, deploying a website in a Linux system is relatively simple and requires less worry. In fact, not the absolute majority of people actually use VPS to build websites. Many friends use it either for fun or to operate some project software.

For example, Snail has written in many previous articles about the deployment of the VNC remote desktop environment and the introduction of some KVM VPS environments to install Windows systems. Many projects that require brushing orders, hanging up, and foreign exchange software need to be used. A few days ago, we should have also seen that HostDare, a new hosting provider, also provides VPS with KVM architecture. To be honest, although this service provider is a personal overseas service provider, it still caters to the needs of Chinese users.

This friend happens to have a KVM VPS and asked him to help test whether the windows system can be installed. Snail has seen that they support custom selection of the OS template that comes with it. Secondly, it is based on the KVM architecture and has a rescue mode. Let's go again Try the DD method to see if Windows can be installed.

First, install the Windows system using the system’s own template

1. Basic settings

Here we need to enter the VPS Configuration network settings.

Leave defaults elsewhere, then select Intel E1000 in the Virtual NetWork location. Save and exit.

Second, select the OS installation system

Here we need to choose OS installation.

Click Others OS to see the Windows system, then select the system and set the password. After setting up, an email will be sent to the mailbox telling us the password, VNC link address port and password.

Third, log in to the VNC link desktop

I encountered a little trouble here. If I use the VNC link that comes with the system panel, it seems to not work. A blank page appears. Then I use vncviewer and find that there is no del alt button. Then I use the TightVNC link tool to see it.

Before this interface, there is an interface that requires us to enter Ctrl+Alt+Del. We need to use this tool to have the above two keys, and add DEL on the keyboard to see the interface above. There is another BUG here. If you use the 2003 system, you don’t need to enter the password. Just click OK to enter. When you log in for the second time, you need a password. I don’t know what to do. The official said that other versions are fine.

The interface here shows that the installation was successful, but it seems to have encountered some problems and cannot access the Internet. It is estimated that the template driver is not installed or there is another problem. Snail TK contacted the official to see if it can be solved. I don’t know if there is a problem with other versions of the system. Wait until it is empty and then try installing 2008 or something like that.

To summarize, HostDare merchant KVM machines also have Rescue Mode. It is estimated that you can also install the windows system through DD. I will not experiment here. I will try it again in the future. After all, the system comes with its own OS, so it is convenient to install it directly.
