Install VNC remote desktop and FireFox browser in Fedora 20 system environment

First, installation environment and upgrade

Here, Snail still uses the machine in hand to install Fedora 20 version (32-bit) for testing. After we reinstall the new system and log in to SSH, we need to upgrade the current various package source files first. Personally, I suggest that the Linux system to install VNC desktop requires at least 512MB of memory, otherwise it will be quite laggy when opening the browser to operate the task.

yum update -y

Enter the above upgrade command to perform the upgrade. In short, we can just wait.

Second, install the GUI desktop

yum install @gnome-desktop -y

Execute the command, and if you need to enter Y, just enter Y.

Third, install FIREFOX Firefox browser

yum install firefox

This is more important. Whether you install it yourself or ask me to help you install VNC, it is basically necessary to use Firefox to operate the project. This browser definitely needs to be installed.

Fourth, install TightVNC and set up

yum install tigervnc-server -y

Install the TightVNC remote desktop connection tool.

cp /lib/systemd/system/[email protected] /lib/systemd/system/[email protected]:1.service

vi /lib/systemd/system/[email protected]:1.service

After opening the file, we need to replace the [Service] content in the last part of the file with the following.

[Service]Type=forkingUser=rootExecStart=/usr/bin/vncserver :1 -geometry 1280×1024 -depth 24ExecStop=/usr/bin/vncserver -kill :1

Replace with the above part and paste it in directly. Then execute systemctl daemon-reload to run and load.

Fifth, set VNC password

vncpasswd

Set a password and enter it twice. This is the password we will need to log in to the VNC desktop later.

Sixth, startup and startup

systemctl enable [email protected]:1.service

systemctl start [email protected]:1.service

Seventh, turn off the firewall

systemctl stop firewalld.service

Finally, we can use the VNC link software to log in to the VNC desktop.

After logging in, click Activities at the top to open the sidebar menu, see the Firefox browser we need, and go online directly.
